Our dogs are part of the family, and so it’s only right to celebrate their birthdays.
We don’t like to waste anything, so this pupcake recipe is enough for 1 large cupcake or 2 smaller cakes. Our dogs would love a whole tray of 12, but their stomachs wouldn’t be thanking us! Multiply the recipe if you’re hosting a pooch party.
So many dog cakes and treats contain ingredients we’ve never heard of, which is worrying.
I’ve used ingredients most of us have around, and you can easily substitute for things you do have.
Peanut Butter – Peanut butter gives the biscuits a delicious taste and smell. This makes them more attractive to dogs. Peanut butter is also high in protein and healthy fats.
Banana – A sweet and healthy treat for dogs, bananas work great in these cakes to bind the ingredients.
Egg – This helps to bind the whole mixture together. It also adds extra protein to the biscuits.
Yogurt – If your dog can tolerate lactose, then yogurt is excellent for their digestion and gut health and being high in protein.
You can alter the size and shape to your dogs’ preference. The smaller they are, the quicker they’ll bake.
Let us know if you give these a try, and send a picture with your beautiful doggies!
